Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a diverse cast of personalities, and a gripping narrative showcasing celestial beings, demons, and dark forces expanding in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Note: Revealing details for Episode 3 of the new season are included.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
Episode 3 ended with a dramatic pause and presented the initial group of characters who will separate from the primary party to undertake their separate journey, apart from the additional parties.
This warrior group features the determined fighter (brought to life by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Given a large ensemble, it was evident from the outset that keeping everyone at the same party would be impossible.
Hence, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, connecting the individual narratives before splitting into three separate parties: Warriors, Strategists, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who enjoy a classically intense battle-oriented story mode where non-violent answers are scarce.
At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might seem out of place, but the events of the latest installment demonstrate why these five characters are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the party understands precisely where to proceed after a violent opening clash with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose demise started the narrative’s action—used the enemy for his selfish purposes, invading Thjazi’s hideout, attacking Thimble, and swiping all the magical artifacts to auction.
The antagonist then paid off his debts and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the urban center, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each member has a specific drive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as the companion and closest confidant, seeks revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure knows Timmony and advises that it is a nasty location.
- The warrior and The healer, having resisted his house’s orders to eliminate the target and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- But, their position as important members in the powerful family could help the party access locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, Teor pledged a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his salvation and will now accompany him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are wanted by the authorities that control the setting for a range of causes, making lingering locally too risky:
- Thimble and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The healer defied House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the family.
This results in them few options but to journey toward the remote area in search of Casimir.
